2015 North American Car and Truck/Utility of the Year finalists announced

North American Car & Truck of the Year award is one of the most important one in the industry and even though some of the cars on that list are not available in Europe, it gives a good overview what is happening in North America and also globally.

The awards, now in their 22nd year, are designed to honor new benchmarks in their automotive segments in areas ranging from design and safety to innovation and value for the dollar.

Fifty-seven jurors from different media properties like newspapers, television, radio stations, magazines and websites voted last week and here are the finalists.

The three finalists for the 2015 North American Car of the Year are:
Ford Mustang
Hyundai Genesis
Volkswagen Golf, TDI and GTI

The three finalists for the 2015 North American Truck/Utility of the Year are:
Ford F-150
Chevrolet Colorado
Lincoln MKC

2014 North American Car of the Year was the Chevrolet Corvette Stingray.

The winners will be announced at the North American International Auto Show on Monday, January 12.
