The upcoming MINI Cooper 5-door (F55) continues testing and has been caught near the Arctic Circle next to the 3-door version and also the next Clubman giving us a good overview of its proportions.
The front-door is shorter on the 5-door model and the wheelbase is longer, the c-pillar is also longer hinting at a bigger boot. The roof line also looks a bit higher than on the 3-door model.
Naming for the new model is still not known, though a Traveller name is rumoured on different forums.
Visually the new model will be quite similar to the new recently unveiled hardtop, so there are no surprises at the front or rear, just two additional rear doors and more room for the rear passengers and cargo in the boot.
The prototype pictured here is the S model with centre exhaust tips, roof spoiler and a more aggressive front.
The S model uses a 189bhp 2.0-litre 4-cylinder turbocharged petrol, while the entry level model is powered by a 134bhp 1.5-litre 3-cylinder petrol and for diesel fans there will be a 114bhp 1.5-litre 3-cylinder unit.
The new 5-door MINI is expected to debut in the second half of 2014.
