2015 Mercedes E-Class updates include new infotainment system and diesel 4x4 version

Mercedes-Benz E-Class received a major update in 2012 and a smaller one last year. For the 2015 the German automaker has no visual changes for us, but some new technology like the new internet-enabled telematics generation boasting high-performance multimedia devices and navigation systems.

When paired with a Bluetooth-enabled mobile phone with data option, the modern COMAND Online multimedia system in the E-Class range offers internet functionality, enabling the internet to be surfed without restrictions when the vehicle is stationary.

The 4G wireless broadband internet connection offers download speeds of up to 300 Mbps and upload speeds of up to 75 Mbps.

A common feature to all systems is a high-resolution 17.8 cm colour Media Display with a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels and 3D effects.

There is also optional Audio 20 CD with twin tuners, traffic information decoder, CD drive (MP3 and other music formats), Bluetooth interface with address transfer from mobile phone to the head unit, Media Interface integrated into the head unit for the support of iPhone or iPod, two USB ports and an SD card slot.

Other new update and good news for diesel fans is the addition of a new E 220 BlueTEC 4MATIC. The four-cylinder diesel engine packs 170 hp and delivers 400 Nm of torque.
