Last week Mercedes-AMG revealed the SLS AMG GT Final Edition, marking the end of Mercedes-AMG’s first super sports car.
A new AMG model has been in the works for some time now that is internally known as c190 and will be called very likely AMG GT or SLC. The development has reached a new stage and the prototype is wearing a different camouflage revealing more of the overall size, shape and details. We get to see the active rear spoiler, which nicely blends in with the rear when not in use.
Going against the likes of Porsche 911 Turbo, Audi R8 and Nissan GT-R, the new AMG model will have traditional doors with power coming most likely from a 5.5-litre twin-turbo V8 and/or 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 linked to seven-speed SPEEDSHIFT dual-clutch gearbox.
The range topping Black Series is expected to have around 600bhp.
The standard model will have rear-wheel drive, while all-wheel drive is also likely as the prototype has been testing together with the Nissan GT-R.
Public debut is expected for the second half of 2014. Prototypes for the convertible has not been spotted yet, but it is expected to follow roughly one year after the coupe.
