We have seen chassis testing mules for the all-new Jaguar XE (codename X760) with a modified XF body with shorter doors.
Here we have our first spy shots of the all-new XE with the production body testing on British roads.
The XE is reportedly based on a shorter JLR’s PLA platform and the prototype has plenty of camouflage showing a long bonnet, short boot and short overhangs.
The camouflage tries to hide rear window and the shape of the C-pillar, but you can still see quite well how the rear window actually flows into the boot.
The XE will go against the Audi A4, BMW 3 Series, Mercedes C-Class and is expected to debut at the end of this year.
The engine range is expected to include both four-cylinder units (diesel and petrol), as well as a V6 diesel and a supercharged V6 petrol.
Update: Jaguar has confirmed the name for this all-new mid-sized premium sports saloon will be XE not XS.
