When Dodge unveiled the 707 horsepower Challenger SRT Hellcat last month, everyone wanted to know when does the Charger SRT get the Hellcat treatment.
No more waiting as the hot four-door muscle car with its supercharged 6.2-litre HEMI Hellcat engine producing up to 707 horsepower and 650 lb.-ft. of torque is here in detail.
Dodge calls it the quickest, fastest and most powerful saloon in the world. 0-60mph comes in 3.7 seconds, while the quarter mile time on street tyres is an impressive 11.0 seconds. 0-100-0mph takes less than 13 seconds and top speed is 202mph.
Just as on the Challenger SRT Hellcat, the Charger SRT Hellcat comes with two key fobs – one black and one red, with the red fob unlocking all 707 horsepower. The engine is linked to TorqueFlite heavy-duty eight-speed automatic transmission with 160 millisecond shifts.
Visual updates include new heat extractors in the power-bulge aluminium bonnet, new front and rear bumpers, new LED lightning at the front and rear, dual exhaust system and 20-inch aluminium wheels fitted with Pirelli P Zero tyres.
The interior boasts SRT three-spoke, flat-bottom steering wheel, 7-inch reconfigurable digital gauge cluster, 8.4-inch touchscreen, Nappa leather and Alcantara suede seating.
The Charger SRT Hellcat will go into production next year. It is unlikely we will see it as a RHD model, but lets hope Chrysler will surprise us all.
