2015 BMW M2 Coupe prototype starts testing

BMW M4 Coupe (successor to the M3 Coupe) is an amazing car, but there is something missing, when comparing it to the E46 M3. It is too “clean” and does not seem as driver oriented as the E46.

When BMW launched the 1 Series M Coupe few years ago everyone was excited, but the model was unfortunately quite limited and there are not many cars on the after market.

Good news is that BMW has started testing the upcoming M2 Coupe (as you remember 1 Series Coupe is now called 2 Series) and it will be even more exciting than the discontinued 1 Series M Coupe. Some call it already a true successor to the E46 M3.

The car pictured here is an early stage chassis testing prototype with wider track compared to the standard 2 Series, the flared side fenders are coming from the BMW M235i Racing and we can also see new blue BMW M-brakes and a set of 19 inch wheels which are only available on the new BMW M3/M4.

The production model will get a much more aggressive styling along with BMW M-double-exhausts on each side.

Under the bonnet is an uprated inline-six TwinPower Turbo 3.0-litre taken from the M235i producing reportedly around 380-400bhp. Very impressive numbers and just 30bhp less than in the M3/M4.
