The Daimler-Renault alliance will soon see results in the form of next-generation Twingo and smart model range. This early stage chassis test mule was spied testing outside the technical center of Mercedes-Benz in Southern Germany wearing the current Twingo body with some modifications.
The shortened version of this chassis will be the basis for next-generation smart fortwo. Rumor is that Renault will also use the shortened chassis for another model, that will sit below the 4 seat Twingo.
Engine options at this stage are a big mystery, but we can see most likely both diesel, petrol and also all-electric options.
