New Range Rover Sport is already on sale with prices starting from £51,500. Current top of the range model uses a supercharged 503bhp 5.0-litre V8 petrol engine.

Here we have the latest and best shots of the new range topping Range Rover Sport R-S testing on the Nürburgring.

The prototype reveals for the first time double exhausts at the rear and we can also see bigger air intakes in the lower front bumper and a bigger rear spoiler above the rear window.

The Range Rover Sport R-S is likely to use a 542bhp supercharged 5.0-litre V going against the likes of Porsche Panamera Turbo S and BMW X5 M.

The R-S variant is also expected to offer a sharper suspension tune for improved handling, bigger brakes and a more luxurious interior.
