2014 Porsche Panamera Diesel with a new 300bhp 3.0-litre V6 revealed

Porsche Panamera facelift has received a new diesel variant with a new 3.0-litre V6 engine producing 300bhp. That’s 50bhp more than before. Torque climbs by 100Nm, to 650Nm and 0-62mph sprint takes now 6.0 seconds (0.8 seconds faster than the outgoing model).Top speed has also increased from 151mph to 161mph.

Fuel economy is a bit down, returning 44.1mpg, compared to outgoing model’s 44.8mpg. CO2 emissions are up from 166g/km to 169g/km of CO2, keeping it in the same VED band.

The Panamera Diesel now also features the controlled rear-axle differential lock with Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus (PTV+) as standard for the first time. The transmission and chassis have also been retuned.

The Panamera Diesel with the new engine replaces the current 250bhp variant and will be available from January 2014. New model is expected to cost a little more than the outgoing model, which starts at £62,922.
