2014 Porsche 911 Targa rendered based on patent photos

We have seen the new Porsche 911 Targa testing at various locations with camouflage hiding the new Targa roofline.

There shouldn’t be any big surprises when the new 911 Targa arrives next year thanks to patent photos, courtesy of AutoMotor.fr . We can see the new 911 Targa will get sort of a retro look with a removable section and a fixed glass rear window as seen on the classic Targa.

Now the talented X-Tomi Design has created a side profile rendering based on the patent images and the result is very good. The thick aluminium like B-billar and the glass roof behind it match very well.

Details are limited, but the engine range is expected to offer the familiar entry level 350bhp 3.4-litre flat six with 288 lb-ft of torque and a more powerful 400bhp 3.6-litre unit with 324 lb-ft of torque.

The new 911 Targa is likely to debut in March 2014 at the Geneva Motor Show.
