2014 MINI Cooper S spied less disguised at the Nürburgring

New MINI Cooper S (F56) has been spied again, this time less disguised testing at the Nürburgring.

We can see much better the new design at the front and rear as well as some details like the extra air intakes in the lower part of the front bumper, the special wheels and the new lights.

Next generation Cooper S as well as JCW model will get reportedly an entirely new 2.0-litre four cylinder engine that will be shared also with front-wheel drive BMWs.

Power details are not known, but the new engine is sure to offer more power and better fuel economy than the outgoing model which packs 181bhp from a 1.6-litre turbo).

Both manual and automatic transmissions will be offered. Automatic is rumoured to be either 8 or 9 speed. Possibly a dual-clutch transmsission from Getrag.

New Cooper S will also get an ELECTRONIC DAMPER CONTROL (EDC) allowing the driver to manually adjust the car’s dampening to suit the driving conditions.

The new MINI Cooper and Cooper S are expected to debut at the Frankfurt Auto Show in September and launched to the market later this year.
