2014 Lexus CT 200h facelift revealed

Lexus has unveiled the updated CT 200h with both interior and exterior styling changes.

The biggest update is the new corporate spindle grille which is part of all their recent facelifts and new models.

There are also new 16- and 17-inch alloy wheels with a ten-spoke design, along with a new shark fin-style roof antenna.

At the rear is an updated bumper with stronger horizontal lines, incorporating distinctive L-shaped reflectors and a black lower centre section.

A revised range of paint colours will be available as weel, all benefiting from a scratch-resistant, self-restoring top coat.

Changes to the interior include a new 370mm diameter steering wheel, Optitron instrument binnacle with an integral 4.2-inch TFT screen, which can be linked to the car’s multimedia system and controlled using switches on the steering wheel.

The Lexus Media Display and Lexus Premium Navigation system have been made easier to operate with better hands-free and voice recognition functions. There is also a rear view monitor for the Lexus Media Display, a tyre pressure warning system and an “off” setting for the traction control.

Audio system’s sound quality is improved with innovative use of natural materials, including bamboo fibre, plant opal and charcoal, which are used in an injection moulding process to create the industry’s thinnest loudspeaker diaphragm, giving noticeably better sound reproduction.

1.8-litre petrol engine working together with an electric motor for a combined output of 134bhp carries over with no changes, but the CO2 emissions are down by 5g/km to just 82g/km for the entry level S grade model fitted with 15-inch wheels and for versions equipped with optional 16-inch wheels the official figure has been reduced by 6g/km to 88g/km.

The CT 200h F Sport has now a more powerful road presence as the spindle grille adopts the same mesh pattern as the new IS F Sport, while the roof spoiler has cut-outs to gain additional downforce.

The F Sport also comes with 10-spoke 17-inch wheels and will be available with F Sport-exclusive white.
