2014 Honda Civic Tourer spied for the first time

Honda showed the Civic Tourer Concept at the Geneva Motor Show last month.

Here we have the first spy shots of the production version, which will debut at the Frankfurt Auto Show in September. This is the first time Honda is developing an estate version of the Civic.

The prototype looks very similar to the concept in Geneva, though at closer inspection you will see that the centre exhaust layout is missing and the bold rear wheelarches are toned down a bit.

Honda has not revealed any details about the boot space, only saying that the Civic Tourer will have “class-leading cargo space”.

The Civic Tourer will be built at its Honda’s UK plant in Swindon, and around 20 per cent Civic sales are expected to be the Tourer model.

Rumour is that the Type-R version is also planned to rival the Ford Focus ST Estate. We’ll see soon!
