2014 Car of the Year candidates announced

The 58 member jury representing 22 European countries for Car of the Year 2014 has announced 30 candidates.

The 30 new models are already on on sale or will be this year in at least five European countries. In addition every candidate has to have a minimum of 5000 unit projected annual sales, meaning exclusive cars can never get the title, no matter how good and high-tech they are.

The short list consisting seven cars will be announced in December and the winner on March 3, 2014 on the eve of the Geneva Motor Show.
