Here we have the latest and the best spy shots of the new BMW X5 M testing in Germany.
The prototype has lost most of the camouflage, giving us the best look yet of the front and rear bumpers and side skits. You can see the big air intakes in the front bumper, big blue brakes, sporty rear bumper with trademark M-double exhausts.
The outgoing X5 M packs already an impressive 555bhp from a twin-turbo 4.4-litre V8, enabling it to hit 0-60mph in just 4.0 seconds. The new model will be clearly lighter and even if it does not deliver more power it will have better performance numbers thanks to a significant weight loss.
There is also of course a specially-tuned suspension, improved steering and tyre package.
The current third-generation BMW X5 is on the market since May and the new X5 M is expected to go on sale in the first half of 2014 with a possible public debut next month in Detroit or in March at the Geneva Motor Show.
