2014 BMW X4 caught testing on the Nürburgring

has been caught again, this time testing at the Nürburgring. The X4 was first previewed as a concept earlier this year at the Shanghai Motor Show. Based on the X3 platform, it features a coupe like crossover design and is basically a smaller brother to the X6.

The prototype has enough camouflage to hide the final look, but it looks like the production model will be almost identical to the concept.

Engine line-up is expected to carry over from the X3:
A TwinPower Turbo 2.0-litre four-cylinder with 240bhp and 352 Nm of torque
A TwinPower Turbo 3.0-litre inline-six with 300bhp and 406 Nm of torque
A 2.0-litre four-cylinder diesel with 184bhp and 380 of torque

The X4 will be built in South Carolina, US and the production model is expected to debut in early 2014 at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit.
