2014 BMW M4 spied less disguised at the Nürburgring

Here we have the latest spy shots of the upcoming BMW M4 coupe testing at the Nürburgring.

The prototype has lost some of its camouflage, revealing more of the front grille and side shape.

As we have mentioned already, the next generation 3-Series two-door models will get the 4-Series name, meaning the new M3 Coupe is in fact the M4 pictured here.

Just like the M3 saloon, the M4 will drop the naturally-aspirated 4.0-litre V8 in favour of a turbocharged straight-six.

Details are limited, but very likely the new engine is a 3.0-litre unit codenamed S55, delivering over 400 hp. Earlier reports suggested the engine has three turbos and packs 450 horsepower.

Compared to the standard 4 Series, the M4 also features different bumpers, bigger brakes, lowered suspension, quad exhaust tips and bigger wheels.

World debut is expected to take place later this year. Possibly already in September at the Frankfurt Auto Show.
