2014 BMW i8 hybrid sportscar caught for the first time testing at the Nürburgring

has been testing on public roads for over two years now and here we have the first pictures showing this 2+2 hybrid sportscar with “butterfly” doors at the Nürburgring race track.

The i8 was caught after the first laps on the ‘Ring next to the road with an open door, showing the heavily disguised interior.

The i8 gets its power from a 4-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine and electric hybrid drivetrain. 0-62mph is expected to come in 4.8 seconds with a fuel economy around 100mpg.

Prices are expected to start at around £125k.
