2014 BMW 2 Series Coupe spied with very little disguise

Here we have the latest spy shots of the new BMW 2 Series Coupe.

The 2 Series Coupe is nothing more than a replacement for the 1 Series Coupe, a similar move BMW did with the 3 Series Coupe, which was replaced by the new 4 Series Coupe.

The new model is sleeker and rounder than the 1 Series Coupe it replaces, with overall proportions very similar.

We get a good look at the new front bumper, new grille, side lines and even new lights, which have some tape around to hide the final shape.

Details on the model range have already leaked and include a:

-BMW 220d with a 2.0-litre diesel producing 181bhp and 380Nm of torque, good for a 0-62mph in 7.1 seconds and a top speed of 146mph.
-BMW 220i with a 4-cylinder 2.0-litre unit producing 181bhp and 270Nm of torque, good for a 0-62mph in 7.0 seconds and a top speed of 146mph.
-M235i with a 3.0-litre turbocharged straight-six engine with 322bhp and 450Nm of torque, 0-62mph comes in 4.8 seconds and the top speed is electronically limited to 155mph.

The 228i is expected to use a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder with around 240bhp and 235i a 3.0-litre turbo six with around 300bhp.

Convertible is also in development and will follow shortly after. The range topping M2 is also expected as a successor to the 1 Series M Coupe.

Rear-wheel drive remains standard, but it is likely the all-wheel drive xDrive will be optional on some models.
