2014 Audi A3/S3 Cabriolet Spied For the First Time

Here we have our first spy shots of the new 2014 Audi A3/S3 Cabriolet in black and white camouflage, caught testing near the Arctic Circle in Sweden.

Both the A3 and S3 Cabriolet were out in the snow today and the only thing that distinguishes the S3 Cabrio prototype from the standard A3 model are the four exhaust pipes at the rear.

The next generation Audi A3 Cabrio features a soft retractable roof and is longer than the outgoing model, meaning it has more room for the passengers plus extra space in the boot.

Engine options are expected to carry over from the recently introduced new A3 and S3 hatchbacks. Meaning the base A3 Cabrio will likely use a 122hp 1.4 TFSI, while the S3 Cabrio is powered by a new 296bhp 2.0-litre, direct-injection turbocharged TFSI engine.

The RS3 model is expected to have a turbocharged 2.5-litre five-cylinder engine with close to 400bhp.

The new Audi A3/S3 Cabriolet is expected to debut after the new A3 Saloon in late 2013 or in early 2014.
