Here we have the latest spy shots of the upcoming Jaguar F-type spied on the road. You can see both the regular F-Type prototype and the high-performance F-Type R prototype. The base version has two central exhausts, while the hot F-Type R features the usual four exhausts like every other Jaguar R version. The F-Type R also has an active rear spoiler. It is also expected to have a more aggressive front than the standard model.
The base F-Type will get the 3.0 litre V6 with either 340hp or 380hp. A 240hp 2.0 litre turbo four is also likely to make it into the F-Type. The hot F-Type R gets the supercharged 5.0 litre V8 unit that is already found in the XFR, XJ, XKR and XKR-S. This engine produces between 510-550hp. We’ll see soon how much it packs in the little 2-seater roadster.
The new F-Type is expected to make its debut end of this year, with sales starting in early 2013.
