BMW will expand the 6 Series range to three models this June with the introduction of its first four-door coupe, the 6 Series Gran Coupé.
Pricing will start at £61,390 for the 640i model, that is powered by a turbocharged 3.0-litre inline-six with 320 hp. Next in line is the 640d, that is priced from £63,900 and gets its power from 3.0-litre diesel engine with 313 hp. This engine’s fuel consumption is rated at just 49.6mpg.
Top of the range 650i starts at £70,650 and uses a twin-turbo 4.4-litre V8 unit that also powers the M6 Coupe/Convertible and will be available on the M6 Gran Coupe as well. In the 650i, this engine is detuned to produce 450 hp, instead of 550 hp, that it delivers in the M version.
The 650i gets from 0-62mph in 4.6 seconds and has an electronically limited top speed of 155mph.
All three engines are mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission and come with the full suite of EfficientDynamics technologies, including Auto Start-Stop.
