One of Audi’s R8 e-tron prototypes crashed today at the Nürburgring. This is no surprise as automakers push their prototypes there to the limit and accidents are not a rare sight.
The driver of the R8 e-tron lost control of the vehicle at a very fast part called “Pflanzgarten” between the first and the second camber. Before coming to a full stop he also crashed twice into the right barrier and stopped in the wrong direction.
We don’t have the driver side photos, but according to the photographer the driver side was hit hard as well as the front bumper at the drivers side, that you can see in the gallery below. Thankfully the driver was OK and just the car was unable to get back to the test facility without a help from a lorry truck.
