2012 Mercedes-Benz SLK Accidentally Revealed (Video)

An official French promo video of the all-new third-generation Mercedes-Benz SLK roadster was accidentally uploaded on YouTube and quickly taken down again. But not fast enough as we managed to download the close to 10 minute video, which we have now embedded below.

The French promo film for the new SLK shows the updated roadster from any possible corner, so by the time Mercedes decides to release official pictures, there’s nothing new for those who have seen the video.

The SLK silhouette has not changed much, but there are plenty of new design details like CLS inspired front grille, air vents on the front fenders, the tail lamps are very similar to those found on the C-Class.

Inside you’ll see SLS AMG inspired center console, sun reflective leather and sports seats with Air-Scarf system. New SLK will also feature an optional Magic Sky Control glass roof that darkens it with the touch of a button.

Other technological highlights include adaptive lights, intelligent cruise control linked to Pre-Safe, direct injection, adaptive suspension, Eco start/stop function, Comand online with Internet connection and Distronic Plus.

Mercedes-Benz will offer the new SLK with a wide range of four-cylinder and V6 petrol units, and a new 7G-Tronic Plus transmission. Rumor is that a diesel option will be available soon after the launch as well.

Now that the “accidental” leak has happened, we expect Mercedes to reveal more details about the new SLK shortly.
