2012 Mercedes B-Class prototypeLast time we saw the next-generation Mercedes B-Class was in Germany few weeks ago. The testing now continues in freezing temperatures in Northern Sweden, where the next B-Class is being tested near Mercedes-Benz test center.

The car has lost some of its disguise compared to last time and also has a new set of wheels. As we have already mentioned the next B-Class will be built on a new front-wheel drive platform with a conventional unibody frame.

Both 6-speed manual and dual-clutch gearboxes will be available with stop/start technology. In addition to petrol and diesel engines, the next-generation B-Class will be introduced later as a plug-in hybrid (E-Cell Plus), an all-electric (E-Cell) and a fuel cell (F-Cell) variant.

The B-Class line-up will expand to a saloon, coupe, and crossover variants soon after the 5-door hatch has been launched. Stay tuned for more details and photos!
