2012 Jaguar XF Debuts At The New York Auto Show

The 2012 Jaguar XF saloon has been unveiled at the New York Auto Show, featuring fresh styling inside and out, advanced new technologies and a new entry-level powertrain .

The new XF features an all-new look to the front end with slim new headlight units similar to those found on the new XJ. Other changes you can see on the front include a more upright grille, and a lower bonnet line.

At the rear of the car the tail lamp units have been redesigned with LED technology, while the units themselves now extend further into the boot lid with a new chrome blade sitting below a simple Jaguar leaper badge.

The new 2.2-litre diesel unit develops 187bhp and 332 lbs ft of torque and is mated to a new eight-speed ZF automatic gearbox and an innovative Stop-Start system. The result is combined economy in excess of 50 mpg and CO2 emissions of 149 g/km.

The 3.0-litre V6 diesel engines are available in 237bhp and 271bhp configurations. On the petrol side there are two V8 engines. A naturally aspirated unit with 380bhp and a supercharged unit with 503bhp in the XFR.

The new XF will go on sale in September with prices starting at £30,950 for the 2.2-litre diesel engine, and can go all the way up to £65,350 for the XFR.
