Based on the recent spy photos of the next-generation 1 Series 5-door hatchback we have a rendering here showing how the production model will most likely look when it arrives later this year.
The next 1 Series hatchback(codename F20) will feature a longer wheelbase and wider track than the current model. Built on the new modular/expendable platform it will be available in three and five-door variants, plus coupe and convertible.
The 1 Series will remain a rear-wheel drive vehicle and will be offered with a wide range of petrol and diesel engines, including new turbocharged petrol engines with three or four cylinders. World debut is at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show in September.
