2011 Nissan Murano CrossCabriolet debuts in LA

Nissan is calling Murano CrossCabriolet, “the world’s first all-wheel-drive crossover convertible”. Nissan engineers cut the roof off the Murano SUV, shortened the body, removed rear doors and created a 4WD crossover convertible that seats four.

Power for the Murano CrossCabriolet comes from a 265bhp 3.5-litre V6 petrol engine and it will go on sale early next year in the U.S. Base price for the Murano CC is $46,390 (roughly £29,040) and Nissan has no plans to bring it to Europe at this point.

Most people on the show floor are not impressed what Nissan has built, but in case it turns out to be popular it is just a matter of time when other automakers are going introduce their own open top crossovers.
